Own transportation

Boschi is located about 2 km uphill from the Valdottavo town square, following a winding road through the olive terraces. The narrow paved road leading up is wide enough for a single car, there are numerous areas where you can pull in to let others pass. Please drive slowly and use your horn near blind corners. The road is only used by (very friendly) local traffic. A brief section of the road is dirt track (about 400 meters), the final section leading up to the houses is paved to allow easy driving access to the homes. The location and view are well worth the 5 minute uphill drive!

Public transport

The airports of Pisa (45 minutes) and Florence (60 minutes) are close-by, with numerous low-cost carriers operating routes to a variety of destinations (Easyjet, Ryanair, Transavia, Norvegian Air etc.).

​By train: Diecimo (5 km from Boschi) has a train station, with trains leaving for a variety of destinations including Lucca and Cinque Terre.

A bus runs from Valdottavo to the centre of Lucca three times a day, where you can catch bus connections to Pisa, Florence and the airports.

Despite the public transport options available, a car is highly recommended. Public transport does not run frequently, and the houses are located 2 km in distance and 350m in elevation from the village.
